GOING OUT WITH A BANG
Virgin, UT - June 2004 - Red Bull Rampage, the premiere mountain bike freeride competition, is back in 2004. The fourth and final Red Bull Rampage to be held in Virgin, Utah will take place on the Kolob Reservoir Road just outside of Zion National Park. The mountain which has challenged so many in years past is back with a vengeance, only this time, there’s a twist.
TRICK OR TREAT
Finals of Red Bull Rampage will be held on all hallows eve (Oct. 31), with practice and qualifiers taking place Oct. 28-30. For Halloween, we’ve got a bit of a trick (or treat, depending on how much of a bad-ass you are)…the new finals area. A new area approximately one quarter mile from the first day’s area and 1200 feet in height will be used for finals. This new area has potential for more flow and gap jumps, a possible wall ride, three ridges for riders to choose from, and a dramatic horseshoe ridge at the bottom.
WHO WILL RULE?
Competitors at Red Bull Rampage will be judged on control, amplitude, style, fluidity, and the difficulty of the line they choose. Will World Cup downhill racer Cedric Gracia keep his crown from 2003? Will Tyler Klassen reclaim the title as champion? With a whole new level of difficulty, new terrain, and $15,000 at stake, it’s anyone’s guess in this epic finale to the Red Bull Rampage tradition of freeride greatness.
